Flint Hills Historical Center
Celebrate the beauty of the Flint Hills by honoring its history and inhabitants. Visitors use the center to familiarize themselves with the history, culture, and activities known to the site, including a trail, cafe, gallery, and library for leisure. The project also houses researchers, an event space, and auditorium for events and professional collaborations.

Net Positive House
The Net Positive House was designed and built in 2022 for Habitat for Humanity, organized with the Workforce Solar Housing Partnership. The project included coordination with Manhattan Area Technical College, Flint Hills Job Corp, Flint Hills Renewable Energy and Efficiency Cooperative, and the Fort Riley Home Builders Institute.
The total housing expense per month for the net positive house was $980 below the average listed home in Manhattan. Of the Manhattan area, 48% of renters spend more than 35% of income on housing, making it an unaffordable market. This need for affordable housing not only drove the partnerships of the organizations involved, but resulted in a successful built house. The studio worked together to create shop drawings, fabricate SIP panels, and weld columns to be brought to site for a quick construction phase.

Aquatic Housing
In the Northeast coast of Maine, the town of Rockland is home to the Apprenticeshop which specializes in sailboat commissions using hand built wood technology. Connecting the existing campus dock because of a need for student housing, the Aquatic Housing branches into the water by hovering on piers over the tidal flats. The community hall and dorm hall save on-land real estate for their direct facilities, treating the dock as an extension of their community that retains privacy and maximizes views. The users' experience of sailing and building vessels for the water is heightened by living on the water.

Mid Mix ATX
The city of Austin has had a revamp of zoning. The city has pushed for more mixed use development in new constructions. Mixed use project types can automatically receive a higher rating than projects with a single building type. The 1415 Eva St. site is a fitting location for a mixed use building due to its proximity to other residential properties, stores, and retail businesses. Much like the given program, this location can serve as the ultimate intersection, creating a sense of strong community. Street shopping, comfortable work environments, and convenient apartments give this project a lot to offer. Additionally, the parking can allow for farmer’s markets, food trucks, or other outdoor activities to strengthen this community aspect.

Mycelium - Sheets
Discover organic, textured forms of mycelium sheets. With layered, curved forms they add a unique touch to what a partition could be as well as a prelude to more myco-sheets.
